I know this is a generally well-liked shop and I feel badly about leaving a poor review, but this is our experience… We have been coming to the Farmer’s Rail for well over a year and we love that it’s a local place that offers high quality foods! Plus, the cookies with buttercream frosting? Delicious! We had no issues with our purchases the first few times, but lately, it seems we consistently end up with upset stomachs after eating Farmer’s Rail salmon. I would say out of the last 5 times we’ve eaten it, we’ve regretted it 4. We’re very disappointed considering the cost of products sold here and the shop’s stellar reputation.

This is my favorite butcher! The staff is very friendly, and are always available to help if you need it. The store is clean and well-maintained. They had a bunch of stuff that I was unable to find at a normal grocery store, like chicken liver! I love their croissants and banana cookies because they have amazing pastry. A wide variety of fresh ingredients are available for you to shop here, including all seafood, chicken, beef, and pork products. An excellent butcher that I highly recommend!

Wow....what a great place to stumble upon! The most beautiful and clean butcher and meat case I have seen! I am not from the area and ran across it on my drive. I will be making the 35 min drive to this place again. What a butcher should be!

New management has been terrible. Poor communication, never called when order was ready 2 times in a row. This last time i was told truck would be there Wednesday, order would be ready for pick up Wednesday. Received no call, called Friday to see what was going on.. they said they called and possibly left a voicemail. Checked phone and no call from them or voicemail. Said order was there and ready for pick up friday. Show up today on Saturday and they couldn't find it and said their was a miscommunication error between their butcher and who ever put the order in.. too many excuses and not coming through.. both times we had family or friends in town and we were failed both times. Very disappointing.

I am VERY pleased with The Farmer's Rail's response to a problem. Originally, I had ordered a product that turned out not to be exactly what I expected. WOW, DID THEY BEND OVER BACKWARDS TO MAKE IT RIGHT FOR ME! They are now my butcher!!

Every town across the US should have a place like this. Rustic/beautiful location and building which makes this place feel cozy and local. It's not just a pretty shop though, High High high quality meats including top grade Wagu, Dry Aged charcuterie and steaks, and amazing cheese as well. Just go visit. it's a must.

Old school butcher shop and deli. The feel when you walk in this place is amazing! Even though it’s brand new, you feel like you are walking into a old butcher shop from 100 years ago. Locally raised meats from Brunty Farms and amazing deli meats!

I have been shopping here since u guys opened. Lately, it's a bit... different. One thing has to be obviously apparent to you EVERY TIME you step foot in your doors.... the place smells like terrible, rancid meat. You can and need to address this issue.
